The Rev. Christina Guest began ordained ministry as Assistant Curate at St. Stephen’s Church, off Pinecrest, in 1986. She then served as the incumbent priest at St. Mary’s, Russell, from 1988 to 1992, and the Parish of Buckingham, which had five congregations, from 1992 to 1998. She also served as Archdeacon of West Quebec during the second half of that period.
In 1998 Christina took a job as a project officer with the Chaplaincy Program at the Correctional Service of Canada, which she held for 9 years and then moved to the newly created Victim Services in 2007, where she stayed until her retirement in December 2023. She served as curée of Saint-Bernard-de-Clairvaux for seven years, from 2002 to 2009.
Beginning in 2009, Christina was a member of Christ Church, Aylmer, for a couple of years, then spent a few years at St. John’s before joining St. Luke’s, Somerset Street. She returned to John’s after St. Luke’s closed following a fire in October 2022 and feels very much ‘at home’ here.
A “cradle” Anglican, Christina was born in British Columbia and moved across Canada – and the United States – with her family as her father completed post-graduate and doctoral studies. The family lived in Winnipeg between 1968 and 1980, at which point they moved to Ottawa. After high school, Christina obtained a certificate to teach French as a second language in Switzerland and the obtained her Bachelor of Theology degree at Saint Paul University.
Christina has two sons – one pursuing a career in computer programming in the Montreal area, and the other living with her in Aylmer.
