Nicholas Busch holds a master’s degree specializing in collaborative piano from Western University, where he studied with Dr. John Hess and Professor Mariana Chibotar-Rutkevich, and is a Registered Music Teacher in Ontario. Nicholas is the collaborative pianist for the Canadian Centennial Choir, and the All Voices Community Choir, and regularly works with other choral groups in Ottawa and the valley. In 2023, Nicholas founded the Beaverbrook Community Concert Series in partnership with Kanata United Church, a series that brings paid concert opportunities to early career musicians in a community with limited concert venues. He has a passion for new music and has had the honour of premiering and recording many new pieces for both mixed ensembles and solo piano by composers from across Canada. As a composer, he has had the privilege of having his music premiered by professional performers throughout Ontario, including Duo Mezzopiano and Andy Busch. He is a member of the Adams-Busch Piano Duo along with his spouse Olivia, who perform often throughout Ontario. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, cycling, hiking, and spending time with his dog Nori.
Nicholas began his position at St. John's in February 2025, and is excited for what the future of this relationship will hold.
